Simple terms for a simple tool

1. The service

GPX MAP lets you upload a GPX file and view the recorded track, statistics derived from it and an elevation profile on a map. The service is provided free of charge, without an account and without any storage of your files, as described in the privacy policy.

2. Your content

You keep all rights to the files you upload. You grant the service only the technical permission needed to parse the file and render the result page for you, which ends when the response is sent. You confirm that you are entitled to use any file you upload and that it does not contain data you are not allowed to process.

3. Acceptable use

Use the service for its purpose: viewing GPX files. In particular, do not:

• upload files crafted to disrupt, overload or attack the service or other systems;
• automate uploads at a volume that interferes with other users;
• attempt to bypass the upload limit of 25 MB or the file validation;
• use the service to track a person without their knowledge and consent where that is unlawful.

The operator may block requests that breach these rules.

4. Accuracy

Distances, speeds, times and elevation figures are calculated from the data in your file using documented methods. They depend entirely on the quality of the recording and are provided for information only. Do not rely on them for safety-critical, legal, medical, competitive or billing purposes. Maps and navigation links are provided by third parties and may be inaccurate or out of date; follow local signage and use your own judgement.

5. Third-party services

The map layer is provided by Google Maps Platform and the typeface by Google Fonts, each under Google's own terms. Links in the "Open in" menu take you to Google Maps or Apple Maps, which are operated by their respective companies and governed by their terms. This service is not affiliated with Garmin, Google or Apple; product names are used only to describe compatibility.

6. Availability and changes

The service is offered as is and as available. It may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn at any time without notice, and there is no guarantee of uptime or of continued support for any file format or feature.

7. No warranty and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. The operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the service or reliance on its output, except where liability cannot be excluded by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

8. General

If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest continues to apply. These terms are governed by the law of the operator's place of establishment, and disputes are subject to the courts there, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence.
